It was a dismal party really. Aristocrats often held big, expensive social events that you would rather watch grass grow than attend.

However amongst the dull party goes and boring gossip from the...post-menopausal, way in the back stood two younger party goers who looked like they were actually enjoying themselves.

They look as if they are in their own little world and all else around them is merely a dream, or perhaps it's the other way around.

and then she turns to her companion, and she has to stand on tip toes and he has to bend down slightly, but she whispers something to him and he bursts out with a bark of laughter. She soon follows him and they are both laughing and laughing; they paying no mind to the few who stopped to stare at them with discouraging looks. Why should they care about the others, about the party, about society? No they refused to.

They had each other and that was what mattered.

The post-menopausal joke it's actually a quote from one of my favorite manga series back in High School. Anybody who can guess it gets a free chibi sketch from me. :3

This is actually not the real piece. The real one I plan on doing in traditional media and actually finishing. But I wanted to post it so I threw some colors on and played around with different things in photoshop and...this is what I got. lol Sorry if the circles are a bit much it looked plain without them. I can't remember where the brush came from though sorry. Oh and the lines look weird and choppy because this was drawn on textured paper.
